A flatbed loaded with strapped lumber crossing a suspension bridge.

What it is

A flatbed is an open trailer with no walls or roof. It's loaded by crane or forklift from the side, which suits long, heavy and oddly shaped freight.

Pace quotes 48′ flatbeds and step decks. The freight is strapped or chained down, and tarped when it needs to stay dry.
